THE CAR

AN ‘86 PORSCHE TARGA

The Porsche Targa was introduced to the world in 1966 as a balance between a convertible and a coupe. It was built in response to fears that the government would soon outlaw convertibles. The stainless steel roll bar and removable roof gave the Targa versatility yet safety.

This particular Porsche Targa was supplied by our amazing friends at Fire and Crème. Fire and Crème is a full service event planning company, based in Venice, CA.

THE PLANTS

THE UNLIKELY FLORIST

For this installation, Plant Passenger partnered with the renowned local florist, Spencer Falls, more notably known as The Unlikely Florist.

Spencer blurs the lines between performance, floristry, and fine art. He consistently looks for new ways to present florals and with every day that he steps into his studio he works to question conformity, inspire consciousness all by using the overwhelming positivity of flowers.

OUR INITIATIVE

Plant Passenger was created with a focus on combining man-made beauty with natural beauty in an artistic installation. The concept is to place beautiful vintage cars overflowing with plants and other greenery in locations with high foot-traffic. We want to allow people to take a step back from their busy day and recognize the beauty in everyday life whether it’s in design or in nature.

BEYOND ART

After finalizing the art portion of the exhibit, we recognized that there was a huge opportunity to bring attention to the myriad of issues we have with our environment ranging from climate change to green emissions to sustainability. We wanted to use this platform as a means to promote change and help our sacred planet continue to retain its beauty and life.

SUPPORT

We plan on partnering with a variety of local and national charities and green initiatives moving forward. Until we have solidified these partnerships, here are a few causes you can read into or donate to:
