For Palm Tree, we partnered with Buy Them Flowers for our first music festival, and we could not have picked a bigger stage: a sold out show that brought thousands of guests to Southampton on June 27th. Kygo, The Chainsmokers, Gryffin and more kept the crowd groovin from afternoon into night.
For this one, we shifted our usual palette toward a plant selection rooted primarily in Hamptons natives, grounding the work in the land it sat on. Set against the sound of the festival, the installation was meant as a place to pause between sets, somewhere to move through, take a closer look, snap a few photos, and sit with the plants for a minute before heading back into the crowd.
As the sky lit up with fireworks, the cars sat dressed in greens from the ground up, holding their own against the show overhead. Check out the photos by Sofia Kayumova below.
